Porth Reservoir Walk

If you are looking to disconnect from the outside world and reconnect with nature, then the Porth Reservoir Walk is a great option to do so. This fantastic adventure is just under 6.2mi and will take you through the varied terrain that can be found in Cornwall for some awesome views of the countryside.

Setting out from the car park, you will make your way east and enter into the dense cover of the forest. Here, you will enjoy some views across the calm surface of the Porth Reservoir as they become available through the intermittent breaks in the tree cover. After reaching the eastern point of the lake, you will follow the trail as it breaks off to the southwest and exits the tree cover.

Here, you will begin making your way uphill across the open countryside, before arriving in the hamlet of Colan. After passing by the Church of St Colan, follow the road as it leads east and offers some nice views of the surrounding farmland. Eventually, you will turn to the north and begin making your way downhill, looping around to arrive back at the reservoir along the edge of the forest. From here, you will enter back into the tree cover and retrace the initial segment of your walk to return to the car park where you began.
