The Lelant Saltings to St Ives Walk is a lovely coastal journey in Cornwall that offers a nice mixture of natural and urban scenery. While out walking the trail, you will make your way along the banks of the River Hayle to reach the shores of St Ives Bay, which you will then follow to the endpoint of the route in St Ives. Walkers should take note that this is a one-way route; however, there is a short train ride that you can take advantage of if you do not wish to walk the return leg.

If you are looking for a fun walking route in Cornwall that offers a nice variety of terrain types, scenic views along the coast, and the chance to explore the lovely town of St Ives, then the Lelant Saltings to St Ives Walk will be a great option for you to get out and enjoy the outdoors.

Setting out from the trailhead, you will make your way to the northeast along the banks of the River Hayle, before arriving at the shores of St Ives Bay. take a few moments here to enjoy the beautiful views looking out across the blue expanse of the sea, before heading to the northwest along the coast.

Here, you will pass through Carbis Bay and its scenic beach on the way to Porthminster Beach. These two locations offer some stunning views across the bay and the chance to lounge out in the sun if you so wish, so don’t forget to bring your swimwear along. After passing by Porthminster Beach, you will loop around the town of St Ives for views of the harbour and the chance to check out the shops and restaurants, before arriving at the endpoint of the walk at the St Ives railway station.
