The Coombe to Portreath Walk is a nice and easy adventure in Cornwall that will take you through a variety of terrain to reach the seaside village of Portreath. While out walking the trail, you will pass through the forested expanse of Tehidy Wood and traverse several open fields before arriving at the endpoint of the walk in Portreath. Walkers should take note that this is a one-way route, so you will need to either retrace your steps along the trail or make travel arrangements to return to the trailhead.

Coombe to Portreath Walk Description

Featuring a good variety of easy going terrain and some scenic views of the Cornish countryside, the Coombe to Portreath Walk is a great option if you are looking to get out onto the trails for a good bit of exercise. This route will see you traverse tranquil forests, wide open fields, and take in some amazing views of the sea, which makes it great for a relaxing day on the trails.

Setting out from the trailhead in Coombe, you will make your way to the northeast and enter into the dense cover of the trees. This initial portion of the trail will see you make your way through Tehidy Wood, so take your time to appreciate the natural beauty of this tranquil forest setting.

After making your way through the most dense part of the forest, you will continue through the trees alongside the Tehidy Park Golf Club, before eventually exiting the forest. At this point, you will pass by several fields on your right and another golf course on your left, as you descend a small hillside into the village of Portreath. Here, you will make your way through the village until you arrive at the endpoint of the walk near the water’s edge, where you will enjoy some lovely views looking out onto the sea.
