Mount Washington Hike Description
Mount Washington is a fun, adventurous hike with stellar views. However, come prepared for a hard, steep hike that’s easy to get lost on. Download your GPS ahead of time and take care on tough sections.
Beginning near the end of the road, the trail heads roughly northwest. The climbing starts pretty much immediately and doesn’t let up. Grind your way up the slope, making your way through some rooty, rocky sections where the footing is more challenging. To get up the steepest section, two switchbacks help you along. From here, it’s on to the summit.
Note that many hikers get off-track and run into a sheer cliff face about 8 feet tall. If you find yourself here, don’t try to climb it. Instead, backtrack and look for the main trail.
