Difficulty Rating:
Wynoochee Lakeshore Trail takes you around all of Wynoochee Lake in 14.9mi on a moderate trail. You can do the full loop, which can sometimes be overgrown and hard to follow. The good news is that you can do a section of this hike as an out and back to keep it more simple if you prefer. Enjoy mature hemlock forest carpeted with moss. This trail is entirely within the national forest, so dogs are allowed but must be kept on leash.
There will likely be boaters and jet skiers enjoying the lake, and you can jump in for a swim, too.

Wynoochee Lakeshore Trail Description
Wynoochee Lake is a destination for swimmers, beachgoers, and boaters. The lakeshore trail is a pretty walk through a moss-carpeted mature forest, with some trees over 250 years old. This loop can be done either way, but we’ll describe it clockwise.
From the Coho Campground, take Forest Road 2204-200 north to get onto the Wynoochee Lakeshore Trail. You’ll hike alongside the water, crossing a couple of creeks and hugging the ridge that follows the lakeside.
Up by Trout Creek, you’ll leave the shoreline for a while to hike along the streams that flow into the lake. Keep an eye on your GPS if you need to. Following Forest Road 2270 roughly on the way back to the lake, you’ll hike back towards the shore and follow it very closely back to the campground.
If at any point the trail becomes too overgrown for your liking, you can turn around and retrace your steps to the starting point.
