The Divis via Ridge Circular Trail is an exceptional walking route near Belfast that will lead you up to a summit viewpoint for views over the city. While out walking the trail, you will climb up the mountainside to reach the summit of Divis, where you will enjoy a commanding sightline that sweeps across Belfast and the Belfast Lough. While there is a moderate degree of uphill walking involved in this route, you will be hard pressed to find better views in the area.

The trailhead for the Divis via Ridge Circular Trail is located along Divis Road, next to the Divis Car Park.

If you are looking for some impressive sights in the Belfast area and don’t mind a bit of uphill walking, then you should definitely check out the Divis via Ridge Circular trail. Not only will you be climbing uphill to reach the summit of this fantastic peak, you will also receive a gorgeous sightline across the entire city of Belfast, the surrounding landscape, and the waters of Belfast Lough.
Setting out from the car park, you will make your way to the northeast along the track and pass by The Barn Coffee Shop. From here, you will climb uphill to the north, before splitting off to the right to make a steeper climb up to the summit of Divis.
After taking in the breathtaking views of the city, sea, and surrounding countryside, you will make your way downhill to the southeast to reach the lower summit of Black Mountain. From here, you will enjoy some more views overlooking Belfast, following The Ridge Trail as it dips to the south, before bending north on the return to the car park.
