If you enjoy exploring charming seaside towns and taking in beautiful views of cascading waterfalls, then you will want to pencil in the Gortin Quarry and Cranny Falls Circular Walk into your to-do list of walking routes.

Setting out from the car park, you will head to the north along Largy Road to enjoy some scenic views along the coast, before turning inland to gradually climb uphill to the northwest. At the point where the route begins to steepen, you will turn to the southwest and traverse the hillside, taking in the views of the surrounding landscape, eventually meeting up with the banks of the Carnlough River.

Following along the water’s edge, you will eventually reach the viewpoint overlooking Cranny Falls, where you will be able to relax and take in the natural beauty of the cascading water. From here, you will retrace your steps and head right along Waterfall Road, following along the banks of the river as you head to the southeast across the open farmland. This route will eventually lead you back through Carnlough to reach the trailhead where you began your walk.
