If you are a fan of viewing extravagant houses set within the picturesque English countryside, then you will want to give the Welburn and Castle Howard Circular Walk a try on your next visit to North Yorkshire.
Setting out from the trailhead in the village of Welburn, you will head to the northeast and traverse the open countryside to reach the estate grounds of Castle Howard. Here, you will enjoy spectacular views of the grand country house that has served as a home to part of the Howard family for 300 years. After looping around the estate, you will turn back to the south on the return leg of the walk that will take you through fields and forests on the way back into Welburn.
