Walking the Winchcombe and Bourton on the Water Trail is a lengthy undertaking that will allow you to experience some of the most scenic locales within The Cotswolds AONB. While out on the trail, you will make your way across the picturesque Gloucestershire countryside, passing through charming villages like Guiting Power, Naunton, and Bourton on the Water in the process. This is a one-way route, so make sure to arrange a pick up at the end of the trail, otherwise you will need to make the lengthy journey back on foot.
Getting there
To reach the starting point for the Winchcombe and Bourton on the Water Walk from Bishops Cleeve, head east on Station Road for 1.0mi and continue straight onto Stockwell Lane. After 1.0mi, turn left onto B4632 and follow it for 2.9mi, where you will find the trailhead on the right.

If you are looking for a long distance walking route in The Cotswolds that will take you through some charming villages and lovely stretches of terrain, then the Wincombe and Bourton on the Water Walk is the route for you. Setting out from Winchombe, you will make your way to the southeast past the historic grounds of Sudeley Castle before continuing across the open countryside to traverse the beautiful forest setting of Guiting Wood. From here, continue on through the charming villages of Guiting Power and Naunton before meeting up with the banks of the River Windrush and following their winding course into the village of Bourton on the Water.
