Broughton-in-Furness Circular Walk Description
Although not designed as such, the Broughton-in-Furness Circular Trail makes for a great pub walk due to a starting point that is close to the village and its establishments, as well as a midway point near the Blacksmith’s Arms in Broughton Mills. In between, you will be able to fully appreciate the beautiful English countryside as you traverse the slightly hilly terrain. Setting out from the trailhead, the route will lead you to the northeast to pass by several small lakes and make your way through the forests of the Hang Bank Plantation. From here, you will continue to the northeast across the hillscape, eventually arriving in Broughton Mills, where you can pop into the Blacksmith’s Arms for some mid-walk refreshments. Continue along the trail as it turns to the southwest and follows alongside the banks of the River Lickle before cutting across the open farmland to the south on the return to the village where you began.
