Getting there
To get to the start of the Great Cookshall Wood Walk, head to the village of Bradenham and follow Bradenham Wood Lane. Directly across from Bradenham St Botolph Church, you’ll see parking along the side of the road.

Traverse shaded terrain on the Great Cookshall Wood Walk in the Chilterns! This 5.6mi circular route starts from Bradenham and takes you through a lovely woodland setting that offers shade from the sun, making this an excellent walk for super hot, sunny days. Note that you’ll walk along a blend of footpaths and partially paved paths, and the route can be hard to follow, so it’s a good idea to have your GPS mapped out before going. Heading out from the car park, you’ll see a footpath immediately to your left. Meander through open fields before forest views take over! You’ll walk through Park Wood, Bradenham Wood, Beamangreen Wood, ending with Great Cookshall Wood, eventually circling back to your car. Keep an eye out for the pond in Park Wood near the beginning of your adventure.
