Llyn Crafnant and Llyn Geirionydd from Capel Curig Walk Description
From the church, take the clear path on the left-hand side which leads upwards through a field. Cross over a newly restored footbridge, and keep a northward bearing as your path swiftly ascends to a col. This is your high point for the walk, so enjoy the views of Creigiau Gleision and the approaching Llyn Crafnant. The descent is even steeper, so take care in wet conditions. The path turns sharply to the right to follow the lake, which should be on your right.
Once you reach the northern end of the lake, continue along the road for a short while before taking a forestry track on your right that leads to a footpath. Walk along this as it brings you uphill and bends to the right to reach the northern end of Llyn Geirionydd. Continue along the lakeshore path, heading south with the water on your left. As you pass the southern end of Geirionydd, the path bears slightly west before heading south again, developing into another forestry track. This skirts the eastern edge of Llyn Bychan. Paths to Llyn Goddionduon will emerge on your left – ignore these and take a right instead onto a path that leads south and then west until it meets up with the path you came in on from Capel Curig. Turn left and follow this back to the start.
