Bluenose Mountain Hike Description
Ditch the quintessential Okanagan Valley lake views and take up the Bluenose Mountain Hike for some phenomenal valley and mountain vistas. Once you set foot on the trail, we suggest veering off to the right to follow the loop in a counterclockwise direction. You’ll pass by a sign for an old tree (worth stepping off the trail to take a look) before embarking on a series of switchbacks. Take a rest at the first view and admire the Monashees lining the backdrop and the valley views sprawled below. Continue onward along the loop towards the second view, where some alternating elevation loss and gain awaits. The second view brings you to a vista of Vernon and rolling hills lined with trees. After marvelling at this second vantage point, enjoy the switchbacks carrying you back to the parking lot.
If you’re super short on time, you can always choose to go left or right (depending on which view you want to see) at the start of the trail and return the same way you came, making this an out-and-back route.
