Little and Great Hampden Circular Walk Description
Those looking for a fantastic morning or afternoon adventure will fall in love with the charming scenery sketched across the Little and Great Hampden Circular Walk, where some of the best imagery in the Chiltern Hills awaits. But the imagery isn’t the only great thing peppered along this route; you’ll also reach The Hampden Arms and The Pink & Lily, granting the chance to kick back, relax, and enjoy some refreshments before continuing. Do note that this area can get muddy during wetter months, so come prepared with the proper footwear, and it’s also possible to get lost due to the network of paths stretching across the area. Download a GPS before you go if you want to take this exact route.
The path winds in a clockwise direction from the car park, taking you to South Bucks Way before looping towards the Hampden House and Monkton Woods. Make your way to Harslow’s Haddock and then turn toward Hillock Wood. From here, you’ll go across Peter’s Lane to head back to the parking lot.
