Radar Beach Trail Description
Hiking the Radar Beach Trail is a fun, messy, and sometimes challenging experience that will see you descend Radar Hill along a rocky and root-covered technical route to the beach. While older children might be able to climb their way along the trail, the route will be too dangerous for young kids that could slip and fall. Make sure to wear proper hiking footwear on this route.
Setting out from the parking area next to the Canadians at the Kapyong Korean War monument, follow the trail as it enters into the forest and begins to descend along the hillside steeply. Most of the route will be covered with rocks, roots, and mud that will make travel difficult; however, the hand rope installations should help you scale down. Eventually, the trail will level out into more of a hike through the dense tree cover as you work your way towards the beach. Once there, you will be able to take in the peaceful waterside atmosphere and explore the rocky coastal landscape of the immediate area. Once you have finished up at the beach, head back into the forest and mentally prepare for the slippery climb back up the root-covered trail ahead.
