The Phoenix Trail, Henton and Bedlow Walk is a wonderful, family-friendly meander that takes you along the Phoenix Trail, which has been converted from a railway to a walking path! Later on, you may encounter a steam train along a different railway line. To top this off, you’ll meander along the edge of Chilterns Hill while passing by a collection of quaint villages.

Getting there

To get to the start of the Phoenix Trail, Henton and Bledlow Walk from Princes Risborough, head to Summerleys Road before taking a left onto Lower Icknield Way. Continue for 0.4mi before taking a left towards your destination (HP27 9). Those without a car can walk from the Princes Risborough Station to the start of the trail.

The Phoenix Trail, Henton and Bedlow Walk, situated along the edge of the Chilterns, boasts of a montage of views: converted railroads to paths, the possibility of spotting or hearing a steam train, lush rainforest-like scenery, and countryside glimpses. You will have to navigate some stiles and kissing gates, so keep this in mind!

To begin, go to the Phoenix Trail before looping around to reach Penn Farm. After this, you’ll head towards Henton, a lovely village. Continue along to Bledlow Cricket Ground, passing by Horsenden Manor, where you’ll take a left. Look for signs for the Phoenix Trail as you make your way back to where you began.
